Sooke Shukokai Karate is pleased to say that one of our juniors - Aliyah - took 2 gold medals at her first tournament. At the Shima Invitational in Nanaimo November 12th, she took gold in both kata and kumite classes.
Current and former students and family are invited to the Sooke Shukokai 2023 Holiday Party. 7:30-8:30pm Thursday December 21st
Holiday schedule: No classes Monday December 25th, Thursday Dec 28th and Monday January 1st, all other classes normal.
No class Monday September 11th due to the arrival of baby William to Sensei Suzi and Nick's family.
There are two more tournaments coming up soon in close proximity. Provincials at the end of April in Richmond and Victoria Open in - surprise - Victoria in June.
Senseis Suzi & Nick got married back in April 2020 - when things were 100% shut down due to COVID-19. They're taking a belated honeymoon and so there will be no class April 14-27.
Sooke Shukokai Karate is excited to announce that for the first time since total shut down at the start of the pandemic we have a dedicated Dojo again.
Due to holidays, expecting people to be busy with family stuff, there will be no class from December 24th until January 5th
Senseis Suzi and Nick attended the Canada Open Karate Tournament in Richmond this weekend. As well as officiating, both competed and brought home medals.
