Tournaments!
Some people love them whether it is competing, watching, officiating (aka judging) or just the atmosphere. It is also a very important experience especially for the younger athletes. It is very different facing someone you don't know in a point scoring situation than in the same place you always practice with someone you've done exercises before.
That said, we've got 2 coming up.
The sooner one, the Karate BC Provincials is April 29th/30th at the Richmond Olympic Oval. For those that are really interested, it is a great experience and with the elite divisions competing on the second day, for most people they can just do one day - mostly just the officials and coaches that are there both days. Sensei Nick will be competing and officiating.
The second one, the Victoria Open Karate Championships is Sunday June 4th at Central Middle School/École Centrale in Victoria. We strongly encourage everyone with even moderate interest in competing to come out and watch even if you don't feel ready to compete (or we don't feel you're ready to compete). Seeing what is happening will make the next tournament if you enter it easier and more comfortable. It is also very close compared to the other commons tournaments in our region in Nanaimo and Richmond.
