Senseis Suzi and Nick attended the Canada Open Karate Tournament in Richmond this weekend. As well as officiating, both competed and brought home medals. Attendance was back up significantly from last year - very nice to see the numbers returning as we continue to live with covid - also nice to see many people masking.

That's the last of our local tournaments for this year - looking forward to tournaments after new years! We've got 4 Karate BC approved regional/local tournaments on our radar for the next 6 months - two in Richmond, one in Nanaimo, and then to close out the season we'll be looking forward to the Victoria Open Championship at the end of June.

Often, local tournaments have nice numbers for youth and low numbers for adults. This time, Nick had a pretty much full pool to fight - 7. Although the computer system had a mixup and didn't record the actual scores for the first few matches. Nick's first match was 6-0 in his favour.
